PRURITIS

Pruritus or itchy skin occurs typically 3 – 7 days after the person starts the medication. The skin feels dry or irritated but there is usually no rash.

Overall, twenty (20) people out of 100 people who take the medication are expected to develop pruritus.

  • 12 of the 100 - - will get better with lotions.
  • 6 of the 100 - - will need prednisone to get better.
  • 2 of the 100 - - will be hospitalized for a blistering rash.
